I’m a forty-one year old ex-treeplanter, going back to the bush after fifteen years off…

“Why would you want to go back?”

I’m returning to the bush partly because writing my fictional tree planting romance brought back a surge of nostalgia and curiosity—I couldn’t help wondering if the job, or I, had changed in the past two decades. It’s also a creative way to promote my upcoming novel, by documenting my real-life return to the field that inspired its story. Finally, I’m eager to challenge myself again, measuring whether I can still keep up with the physical demands and exploring how my newfound mental resilience compares to my raw physical strength of 20 years ago.

RELEASING JUNE 2nd!

Stuck in Montreal with no job prospects, Soleil Bellerose, a recent biology graduate waiting for her big break into the industry, makes a snap decision to try tree planting in Alberta. What she expects: long days, mosquitoes, and hard work. What she doesn’t expect: the wild beauty of the land—and Gabe Hawthorne, the cocky, rugged foreman at Silvertip Reforestation who pushes all her buttons.

Gabe is confident, capable, and way too easy on the eyes. He’s the kind of foreman everyone wants—except Soleil. As their constant clashes evolve into undeniable chemistry, Soleil struggles with the pull between her growing feelings for Gabe and the safe, certain future calling her back home.

And out here? Love is about as predictable as the weather in the Rockies.

Advanced Praise for “Uprooted”

“This book brought me back to all the misery and joy that is treeplanting. If you want to experience treeplanting, without actually doing it, read this book.”

— M. Diebolt

“Really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend! I read it in 3 days because I couldn’t put it down. I was drawn in by the tree planting setting as it is so unique to anything I’ve read. I’m ready to get put into the bush myself! I genuinely found myself laughing out loud and smiling at parts. The characters were so lovable.”

— J. Whoberry

I read it all in one night…

(I am not a fast reader, it was just that good)!
